Nigeria: Junior Athletes Ruffle Feathers at Pastor Olukoya's Meet

Starting today at the Yaba College of Technology, Nigerian athletes will jostle to put their names on the list of juniors that will participate at the IAAF World Championships July 10-15 in Barcelona, Spain.

The platform is the National Under-18 Championships bankrolled by the general overseer of the Mountain of Fire Miracle Ministries, Pastor D.K Olukoya.

Over 500 athletes from the states are in Lagos to test their prowess in the championships, which the Athletics Federation of Nigeria president, Solomon Ogba desecribed as the bedrock of his development agenda for Nigerian athletics.

"The U-18 Championships is crucial to our efforts to revive athletics. With what we are doing very soon long standing records will be broken.

"It is even more interesting to note that the programme has produce notable athletes like Chizoba Okodogbe and Agnes Osazuwa who are sure to make the Olympic team.
