Eritrea: Fruits and Vegetables Farmers Association in the Southern Region Registers Growing Outcome

Mendefera — The fruits and vegetables farmers Association in the Southern region said in a meeting it conducted that a growing trend has been noted as regards the number of Association members and their aggregate production.

Mr. Negasi Tesfamichael, chairman of the Association, indicated that members of the Association have been harvesting twice or three times a year in line with the available agricultural infrastructure in the region and the vital experience shared among them. Moreover, the Association has earned a total income of 1.3 million Nakfa over the past year. Indicating that the Association is in a position to own a store, office and sales outlet, he said that its cherished goal is to create Reliable basis for the advantage of producers and end users in the region through ensuring the availability of stores and sales outlets in all sub-zones.
