A fatal motor accident yesterday evening claimed the lives of Dr. Usman Yakubu who specialist in brain surgeon, his five year old daughter, Fatima and Malam Abubakar Muhammed a staff of Access bank . The accident was as a result of head-on collision of two vehicles and occurred along Sokoto-Birnin Kebbi Bypass in Argungu.

According to an eye witness, Malam Abdullahi Mai Masallaci, none of the vehicles' tires burst as some people believed. "I was watching the two vehicles collide, we all believe that either one of the drivers fell asleep or was making calls while driving".

He said Dr.Yakubu and his two daughters and a friend were travelling in a Toyota Corolla 1.8 while the other vehicle, a Volkswagen GOLF GT was coming from the opposite direction at high speed.

LEADERSHIP learnt that Malam Abubakar died at General Hospital Argungu on arrival, but the doctor and his daughter, Fatima died in the ambulance on their way to Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital Sokoto.
