Uganda: Worst Performing Schools Receive Books

Research has often cited the poor pupil-to-book ratio as one of the causes of declining performance of primary school pupils across the country. A 2010 Ministry of Education research showed that there was one book for every five pupils.

Some of the worst performing schools in last year's national exams have a history of shortage of books.
