Maputo — An average of 100 trucks a day are known to carry cargo that is in excess of the legal weight limit along the Maputo-South Africa motorway, according to the South African company that operates the road, Trans-Africa Concessions (TRAC).
TRAC warns that the overweight trucks are damaging the road and are a major factor in its rapid deterioration.
