Egypt: AMCOW Chairmanship Goes for Nation

Water and Irrigation Minister Hisham Qandil took on Tuesday 15/5/2012 the post of chairmanship of the African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW) from South Africa for two years.

At the morning session of the Cairo-hosted AMCOW meeting, Qandil said that the meetings of the joint technical committee grouping Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia, which kicked off on Tuesday 15/5/2012, would evaluate studies offered by Ethiopia on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, formerly known as the Millennium Dam.
