Nigeria: FG Sends Military Equipment to Dafur

Minister of Defence, Dr. Bello Haliru Mohammed, said more arms, beddings and utility vehicles have been provided to upgrade the Nigeria's Contingent-Owned Equipment (COE) for troops serving under the United Nations - African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).

The Minister made the remarks yesterday at a meeting with a United Nations Assessment team led by the Deputy Force Commander of UNAMID, Major General Mathew Kisamba in Abuja.

He said over 3,300 military peace keepers and 450 police officers currently serving under the UNAMID were being provided with additional COE.
