Egypt: Tantawi, Abu Mazen Discuss Means to End Palestinian Division

The head of Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi met on 19/5/2012 with the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt.

The meeting tackled means of ending inter-Palestinian division and the revival of the peace process.

The two sides also tackled the dimensions of the status of the Palestinian issue as well as the importance of exerting efforts to revive the peace process, especially at the regional and international levels in the light in unrest witnessed in the Middle East.

SCAF deputy chairman Chief of Staff Sami Anan, Director of the Intelligence Services Murad Mowafi, Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr and a number of SCAF members attended the meeting.
