Nigeria: NEMA Donates Relief Materials to Adamawa Displaced Persons

Yola — The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) yesterday donated relief materials worth millions of naira to the about 5,000 displaced persons, who fled their homes in Adamawa State following attacks on 12 villages of Lamurde Local Government Area of the state.

Many lives were lost while property worth millions of naira were destroyed in the incident. The NEMA team, led by the Assistant Zonal Coordinator of the agency in the North-East, Alh.Muhammad Kanar, described the incident as unfortunate. He urged leaders in the area to be cautious while making statements to avoid creating tension in the land.

In his remarks, chairman of the State Emergency Relief Agency (SEMA) who is also the deputy governor, Bala James Ngillari said the state government is working assiduously with the local council towards alleviating the suffering of the displaced persons.
