To begin with, I would like to appreciate the Governor of Warrap State Nyandeng Malek for the special contemplation and genuine initiative which she had undergone through the whole process within the long chain of state rule since from the genesis, the appearance of Warrap State.
First and foremost I am very excited to express my feelings for the event that happened in the Government of Nyandeng for putting Tonj South County into consideration and chose the right person at the right place Mr. Akech Tong Aleu to be the Deputy Governor of Warrap State not forgetting the new commissioners in Warrap as a whole.
It has become a joyous moment for me and the people of Tonj South to test the fruit and pride of their struggle since nobody has ever held such a position in the State government which sometimes made me restless and wondering whether Tonj South lacked qualified leaders to run the state government. Imagine Tonj South has been marginalized by the marginalized to quote the expression of our late leader Dr. John Garang de Mabior. Nobody has ever occupied Governorship nor Deputy post within the state government from day one of the formation of Warrap State to the Independence Day. This was due to those political activists who had no strategies but came into leadership and messed up the public in search for support to pave their ways for personal achievements which was obviously the result of the problems that besieged Warrap state with hatred and disunity. That problem existed within our elders and discouraged cooperation amongst youth and women because everybody was thinking of himself or herself instead of doing what was good for the community and their demand from them. But today Nyandeng did it special things to the people of Tonj South for which she deserves congratulation.
In the state government previously, Tonj South had been like in a non-existent world due to political controversies and misconception that encouraged nobody to think about Tonj South. Now Nyandeng has emerged with fairness and qualitative leadership that had reduced the long curved queue of leadership that would have reached additional decades for Tonj south to be remembered. At least we have light to see what the wonderful world that people are living in by including Akech Tong in the cabinet.
The truth must be said and accepted. This is the type of good governance that exercises democracy and balancing of powers within the state. This will go into the remarkable history of the people of Tonj South. We have to remember that high positions happened in other parts of the state before. The state hierarchy in ascending order from Ustaz Luis Anei Madut Kuendit deputized by current Governor Nyandeng Malek, followed by Anthony Bol Madut deputized by Kuany Aguar, next was Tor Deng Mawien deputized by Ustaz Makana Akol and Andrew Kuac who succeeded Makana in the position and finally H.E. Nyandeng Malek Delic deputized by Yel Mayardit Mareng who is currently succeeded by Akech Tong Aleu. We were happy because we knew that time would change but now there are malicious people complaining of Akech being the deputy governor of Warrap state. All I know is that Akech is qualified and a citizen at the same time.
So he deserves it for the future of our state in term of security and development.
In fact I was surprised that our Governor would extend that fair and good governance to Tonj South because from the time of election H.E. the Governor never visited our county to have public rallies. This has actually drawn the attention of our people to say that she has some issues with them perhaps but I think she was having a lot of duties to do and that prevented her to visit other places.
Therefore I call upon the outgoing Deputy Governor and commissioners to work with current appointees collaboratively for better and strong standing of our State. There are some things that you need to put into correction instead of leaving your state to collapse because of political or personal interest.
Together let us say SLPM Oyee
Warrap State Oyee
Akech Tong Oyee
New Commissioners Oyee.
God bless you all.
