The special task force deployed to restore law and order in Jos, codenamed Operation Save Haven, in a joint operation by the military, police and members of State Security Service (SSS) have discovered a hideout of Boko Haram suspect in Rikkos area of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State.
LEADERSHIP SUNDAY learnt that Items recovered from the building included over 1,000 rounds of ammunitions, various calibres of AK-47 raffles with four fully-loaded magazines.
Other items were cables, bomb-making materials, detonation cords and bags of fertiliser.
LEADERSHIP SUNDAY gathered that in the course of the operation, six women, including the wife of the escaped suspect, and 11 children were rescued by the joint operation.
Reacting on the development, STF in a press statement signed by its Media Officer, Captain Markus Mdahyelya, said on further search they recovered two generators, four IEDs, 395 sniper ammos, 60m of cortex blue wires, four containers of sodium oxide, one potassium chloride, three lead nitrates, two aluminum powder meters and one remote control.
