Angola: Argentina Fair Helps Bring Goals Closer - Minister

Luanda — The Angolan minister of Industry, Joaquim David, said Friday in Luanda the holding of the Argentina Goods and Technological Systems Fair, will permit a closer approximation of the two countries and standards.

The official was speaking at the inauguration of the Argentina Goods and Technological Systems Fair, on the premises of the Luanda international Fair (Filda), sponsored by the Latin American country's embassy to Angola.

Joaquim David said all is in place for Angolan businesses to sign accords for transfer of technology and industrial production.

He stated as well that this process of approximation of the two countries involves both trade and technological and industrial cooperation to enable the companies to work together and produce for the Angolan market and exports.

Joaquim David added that exhibitors have the support of their banks that have taken the commitment to creating a line of credit of about Usd 100 million for Argentina alone, being the Angolan side expected to follow suit with a view to a partnership between the two countries.

According to the minister, this is an opportunity to see the capacity of Argentina, develop the experience for Angolan projects and consolidate partnerships.

The fair will reinforce the existing bilateral cooperation between Angola and Argentina, facilitate the interaction among businesses from both countries and transmit experience from the Latin American country in the domain of management of business and investments in infrastructures and public services.

In this regard, the ambassador of Argentina to Angola, Juan Agustin Caballero, said that the purpose is to show Angolans the potential of his country's market and business potential and help develop Angola's agriculture and other important economic sectors.
