Judge Hatem Bagato, deputy head of the Supreme Presidential Elections Committee, stated that he was misquoted in reports about vote rigging. There were 62 human errors out of 300,000 votes over the past week, he said.
Reports about names of deceased people and conscripts on the voters' lists are due to the lack of updated information from the Civil Status Authority's voters' database, Bagato said. "Elections fraud is not in anyone's interest," he added.
Committee's judges have the right to see the face and hands of women wearing Niqab, Bagato stated, adding that a female civil servant will be available in every committee. "If a woman refused to do that, she will not be allowed to vote," he said.
