Two people have been reported dead in different incidents, one of them was a truck loader of a transport firm.
He died after being stabbed on the left side of his chest by a sharp tool.
Ausha's Regional Police Commander, Mr. Thobias Adengenye mentioned the name of the deceased as Geofrey Jerome (28) and the incident occurred on May 9, this year at 05:15 a.m. in Sombetini Ward.
He explained that preliminary investigations indicated that during that morning, the deceased was on his way home when he was accosted by some unknown thugs who stabbed him in the chest. Jerome died instantly.
The RPC said that after the incident, some eyewitnesses reported the matter to police who picked up the body from side of the road.
Mr. Andengenye said that nobody had been arrested in connection with the incident and the police force was still investigating.
Meanwhile, one pedestrian whose name and residence has not yet been known died after being knocked down by a vehicle.
Mr. Adengenye said that the incident happened at 08:00 a.m. on May 9, this year along the Dodoma Road in Meserani Village, Monduli District. The deceased was crossing the road when he was hit by the runaway tuck.
He said that the deceased was knocked by Mitsubishi Fuso lorry with registration number T 924 AGH property of Gilba Deengro and was being driven by Simon Joseph (30), a resident of Babati. The truck was heading to Babati from Arusha.
The driver did not stop but later the lorry was found abandoned at Makuyuni.
The hit and run driver was still at large.
