Eritrea: Independence Day Celebrated in Oakland and Tel-Aviv

Asmara, 21 May, 2012 - The Eritrean community in Oakland, USA, and the Israeli city of Tel-Aviv enthusiastically celebrated the 21st anniversary of Independence Day.

The Eritrean community in Oakland voiced conviction that the special event is being celebrated at a time when the steadfastness of the Eritrean people against enemy conspiracies continues to gain momentum, and expressed readiness as ever to back up the national development drive, reports indicated. Similarly, Eritrean nationals residing in Israel marked the Day in a colorful manner in Tel-Aviv City.

Mr. Tesfamariam Tekeste, the Eritrean Ambassador to Israel, stated in a speech he delivered on the occasion that the Eritrean people and their leadership are moving forward in building a strong nation through the same virtue as in achieving freedom.

The participants on their part said that they would exert increased endeavors towards the realization of national development goals.
