Nigeria: FG Mulls Financial Autonomy for Hajj Commission

President Goodluck Jonathan said yesterday that the Federal Government would consider the recommendations by the 2011 Hajj Committee for financial independence for the National Hajj Commission.

Jonathan stated this when he received the report of the Federal Government's delegation to the 2011 Hajj in Abuja.

The delegation was led by the Ammirul Hajj and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III.

Earlier, the Sultan had said that the 2011 Hajj operation witnessed a significant improvement compared to the previous years.

Some members of the delegation are; Justice Muntaka Coomasie of the Supreme Court, the Timi of Ede, Oba M.H Lawal and the Leader of Niger Delta Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujaheed Asari-Dokubo.
