Angola: Sports Minister Hails Executive Performance

Luanda — The Youth and Sports Minister, Gonçalves Muandumba, reiterated on Thursday in Luanda the performance of the Angolan executive in the assistance to disabled people with the creation of social integration policies.

Angop learnt that it is estimated about 150.000 disabled arte registered in the country. According to the minister, among that figure, 90.000 are civilians supported by the Ministry of Welfare and Social Reintegration and other 41.000 with special needs are linked to the Ministry of Education.

The official said so during the opening ceremony of the development conference organized by the African Paralympics Committee (APC), in representation of the Angolan Vice-president, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos. The minister also hailed the role played by the Angolan Head of State in the valorisation of disable people's rights in the society.

Gonçalves Muandumba pledged the commitment of APC, led by the Angolan Leonel Pinto, to have its own good facilities. The organisation was established in 1987.
