Rwanda: RRA to Introduce New Tax Laws

Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) has started a campaign of training taxpayers on new tax laws.

The aim of the campaign is show tax payers how services have been improved to save customers their time.

Traders with items below Rwf200 million a year are allowed to pay TVA tax in semesters and even those who pay TPR salary related tax will be paying termly.

RRA asks those who will be paying taxes termly not to exceed deadline as there will be strict fines or punishments.

Although it continues to make it simple for tax payers, RRA announces that failure to meet the deadline will be fined heavily with an increased percentage from 0.9 to 1.5%, says commissioner for internal taxes Pierre Celestin Bumbakare.

Bumbakare adds that punishments and fines were made heavy so that people get used to paying taxes in time.
