London — The Millennium Challenge Account (MCA), the United States' development aid initiative managed by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), has launched a tender for a company to carry out emergency work on the Mocuba water supply system in the central Mozambican province of Zambezia.
The MCC signed a five year compact with the Mozambican government in 2008 under which 506.9 million US dollars has been set aside for programmes to reduce poverty through improving water supply and sanitation, roads, land tenure services and farmer income support, mostly in the north of the country.
