Kenya: Mbarire Asks for Votes

Tourism assistant minister Cecily Mbarire claims she has performed better her Runyenjes predecessors.

Speaking in her constituency, the Runyejes MP said she has revived many stalled projects in the area and so she deserves to be given another chance.

"I have been able to bring you the water which my predecessors failed and also carried out many other developments like roads constructions and repair, electricity installation, and building of numerous infrastructures. You people you need to protect me and re-elect me as my performance has been excellent," she said.

The MPs accused her political rivals of using petty methods of trying to dislodge her from the seat and asked them to ignore them and consider her performance to gauge whether she deserved another chance or not. "Some of my rivals are even trying to use my marriage to a man from outside this constituency as a weapon to fight me. They have nothing to offer and have thus decided to cling to anything they think can help them to win the elections. Why can't they use issues and agenda based politics?" She posed

She cited the fund raising for Kathande Secondary School Library which was presided over by Lugari MP who is also a Presidential aspirant assisted by Igembe South MP Mithika Linturi last Saturday.
