The government of The Gambia has confirmed that two former senior government officials of the sister Republic of Guinea Bissau, namely Fernando Gomes, former minister of the Interior and Jose Zamore Induta, former chief of Defence Staff have sought refuge in The Gambia following recent upheavals in that country.
A statement from State House on Thursday said the government of The Gambia welcomes them to stay in the country, since they are not criminals and are good citizens of Ecowas.
