Luanda — The Angolan writer Marta dos Santos will be releasing soon her book "Por essa Angola que vovó contou" dedicated to children.
The author announced this during a meeting with children interned in the Luanda Paediatric Hospital. To her, writing for children represents "the irreverence of the future and the voice of the elderly as, writing is building a castle."
She said the book transmits colour, light and hope, because these means much for children as its message is well understood. The author said that she has been writing for children since her 13 years of age.
The book has been translated into the kimbundu, umbundum, cockue and nganguela vernacular languages and was due to be released on the International Children Day, June 1.
Marta dos Santos was born in Luanda and graduated in Law from the Portuguese "Universidade Moderna do Porto". She has so far published seven books and participated in tales anthologies.
