A university don has attributed the poor academic performance in Central region to the lack of role models and motivation in learning institutions. Rebecca Ng'ang'a of Daystar University said the region lacks role models to be emulated by the students as majority of adults have indulged in alcoholism and neglected education.
"Central region over the past years has experienced a drop in education performance in National examinations something that need to be addressed soon through having role models to motivate the students," she said. She also urged the teaching fraternity to exert passion in their teaching to produce better results.
