Egypt: General Prosecutor Appeals Mubarak Verdict - State TV

Al Jazeera television broadcast live the appearance of former President Hosni Mubarak, confined to a cage in the courtroom.

Egypt's General Prosecutor Abdel Maguid Mahmoud decided to appeal the verdict of former President Hosni Mubarak, state television announced on Sunday.

Cairo's Criminal Court sentenced Mubarak and his Interior Minister Habib Al-Adli to life imprisonment on Saturday, acquitting Alaa and Gamal Mubarak and top chief officers of charges.
