Angola: Olímpio Cipriano Joins Basketball Team in Spain

Luanda — The Angolan shooting guard left Luanda on Tuesday for Spain, where he will join the national basketball pre-team that is preparing for the pre-Olympic tournament of Caracas (Venezuela), Angop learnt from the country's federation secretary general, Tony Sofrimento.

Olimpion Cipriano who is also the MVP of the national championship failed to travel last Sunday due to administration reasons.

In Spain, Angola will face Asturias and Basque countries. On June 18 the team will be travelling to Brazil, for an eight days programme during which it will play a local team.

After Brazil, Angola will participate in a four-nation tournament in Venezuela from June 27-29, along with Jordan, Dominican Republic and the host.

Coach José Carlos Guimarães has summoned the following players: Leonel Paulo, Armando Costa, Kikas Gomes, Felizardo Ambrósio, Carlos Morais, Paulo Barros, Roberto Fortes, Divaldo Mbunga, Paulo Santana, Jorge Tati, Eduardo Mingas, Milton Barros and Edson Ndoniema.
