Eritrea: 2012 General Examination Underway Nationwide

Asmara — The Ministry of Education said that the 2012 grade 8 General Examination just got underway today nationwide, as well as in the Eritrean community schools in the cities of Jeddah and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Kifle Mekonen, head of national examinations in the Ministry, indicated that the examinations are taking place in 322 testing centers, and that the number of participating students stands at 70,000. He further explained that the number of participating schools and individuals has increased by 3% and 36% respectively, in addition to the 32% rise noted this year as regards the number of testing centers.

Wishing good luck to all those taking part in the exams, Mr. Kifle called on them to translate into practice the instructions given and demonstrate calmness in the process.

The Education Ministry said that the 2012 General Examinations would be finalized on June 7.
