The Parliamentary Local Authorities Committee (PLAC) has penalised top officials of the Tarime District Council for presenting poorly prepared and questionable financial reports.
According to the PLAC Vice-Chairman, Mr Iddi Azan, the reports were incomplete, lacked clarity and in some cases contradictory. "We have ordered them to prepare fresh ones and return to the committee on July 7, this year. We have also asked the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) to intervene," Mr Azan said.
