Angola: Country, São Tomé and Príncipe Presidents Discuss Cooperation

Luanda — The Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, Thursday in Luanda received in audience his counterpart of São Tomé and Príncipe, Manuel Pinto da Costa, who arrived Wednesday in the Angolan capital for a 24-hour visit.

No statements were made to the press at the end of the audience, but it is believed that the meeting served for the two presidents to review the state of existing bilateral cooperation and the world situation, with stress to Africa.

This is the second visit of president Manuel Pinto da Costa to Angola this year, after that of January 30-February 1.

Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe are members of such regional organisations as the African Portuguese Speaking Community (PALOP), Portuguese Speaking Community (CPLP), Gulf of Guinea Commission and of the Economic Community of Central Africa State (ECCAS).
