A very "Happy Birthday" to the OUTsurance 702 Pointsmen Project within the Tshwane region, which celebrates its first birthday this month!
After almost six years of successful operation in Johannesburg, the OUTsurance 702 Pointsmen Project was extended to Tshwane and officially commenced operations in May 2011.
The Tshwane Pointsmen Project currently stands at 31 static pointsmen plus three project managers.
One year subsequent to the launch, development continues with future plans including the introduction of the highly effective mobile pointsmen concept into the Tshwane region, as well as increasing the team to cope with the high demand for more pointsmen to assist in alleviating traffic congestion.
Peter Cronjé, head of marketing at OUTsurance, says that "we're extremely proud to have played even a small part in the success of a project like this. In addition, we believe that true honours should go to the amazing team of men and women who report to their posts first thing in the morning, every morning - without fail."
Tshwane motorists agree: a web posting from Delia reads, "We have the best pointsmen on the corner of Fouriesburg and Reddersburg road as well as at the circle on Rooihuiskraal road."
Another web posting by Anita is as follows, "I would just like to bring to your attention that Itumeleng is one of the most efficient and friendliest pointsmen I have ever come across. He is performing his work with great confidence and pleasure and puts a smile on all the motorists faces especially early mornings to start ones day in a positive frame of mind. He certainly makes our day - even my kids have made comments about him on our way to school every morning. Congratulating him on a job well done!!! He is absolutely one of a kind!!"
On this milestone occasion, we would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all our sponsors, clients and stakeholders, especially the City of Tshwane and their Metro Police Department, OUTsurance who are our lead sponsor, Talk Radio 702 and The Kit Group for their meaningful contributions to our partnership.
