Angola: Forest Sector Boosts Country's Economy

Luanda — Angola's Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Afonso Pedro Canga, considered the forest sector as a strategic one so as to boost the economy of a country under reconstruction.

The minister said so during a meeting with representatives of timber sector.

He highlighted the importance of the sector in the contribution to the growth of the GDP, creation of jobs and forests preservation.

According to him, the Angolan government has approved a range of measures to re-launch timber the forest production, as well as passed projects and mechanisms of access to loans in commercial banks.
