CANCER specialist from India, Dr PS Sridhar, is today expected to start a cancer screening clinic at Regency hospital in Dar es Salaam.

According to the statement released by Regency Medical Centre Chairperson, Dr Rajni Kanabar, the specialist will conduct a two-day Diagnostic and Cancer Screening Camp for all types of cancers. The statement stated the Specialist comes from HCG Group, Bangalore, India which is the largest Cancer Centre in South Asia.

"Please bring all your previous medical reports and recent X-rays during screening clinic at RMC. This is a good opportunity for Tanzanians to come and see the specialist to get advice. "It is also a good opportunity for patients treated in India to have an expert follow up on their treatment in Tanzania.

This will save their cost of travelling to India," explained Dr Kanabar. Dr Kanabar said that HCG Group is collaborating with Regency Medical Centre to help Tanzanians who need to go to India for treatment at affordable rates. RMC has started follow up chemotherapy for patients treated in India to avoid expensive and prolonged stay in India.

Dr Kanabar urged people suffering from various forms of cancer to turn up at the hospital in Dar es Salaam for check-up and treatment.
