Nigeria: Committee to Conduct Census of Private Schools in Kano

Kano — A committee on private schools in Kano State is set to conduct baseline survey and census of all private schools in addition to examining their mode of operation.

Addressing journalists in Kano, chairman of the task force committee on private schools, Malam Baba Umar said the committee will undertake a comprehensive census of all private schools in the state and document their locations, year of establishment and proprietors. According to the chairman, the exercise will enable the committee to categorize the nature of operations and services provided by the schools.

The chairman further stated that government is committed to achieving the objective of uplifting the standard of education in the state by ensuring due compliance with standard practices. He added that the committee will ensure that it executes its responsibilities without any prejudice to either politics or religion.
