Tunisia: Twenty Customs Executives Brought to Justice

Tunis — Interim Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali has decided after consultation with Finance Minister Houcine Dimassi to bring to justice 20 executives among senior officials and officers of the Tunisian customs, according to a Prime Ministry's press statement, a copy of which was received by TAP on Saturday.

This action is part of the anti-corruption drive and reform of the customs and is based on findings of the report of the financial control committee coming under the Finance Ministry, the same source said.

The Prime Ministry had appointed, last May 29, Colonel Mehrez Ghediri as Director General of Customs in replacement of Colonel Mohamed Abdennasser Belhaj.
