Nigeria: Six Suspects Arrested Over ATM Robbery in Lagos

Ikeja — Police said on Monday that six suspects had been arrested over the vandalism of an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in a bank on Sunday during which N8 million was stolen.

According to a statement signed by the Lagos State Police Command's erstwhile spokesman, SP Joseph Jaiyeoba, four members of staff of the bank and two security guards have been arrested in connection with the incident.

In another development, operatives from the Area 'A' Command Headquarters, led by its Commander, raided a criminal hideout at the Adeniji Adele under bridge and the Sura area of Lagos Island and arrested 21 suspects. Jaiyeoba said that the case was being investigated.

Meanwhile, the command on Monday announced the appointment of a new spokesman, DSP Ngozi Braide, who has assumed duty.

Ngozi, who took over from Jaiyeoba, becomes the first female police spokesperson in the command, the statement added. NAN
