Angola: Attorney General's Office Seizes Voter Cards, Delivers to CNE

Luanda — The Attorney General's Office (PGR) has recently handed over 54 electoral cards to the National Electoral Commission (CNE) seized in northern Uige province.

The action is part of the legal procedure carried out by the Provincial Criminal Investigation Department (DPIC)'s prosecutor's department in the region.

The information is contained in a press note released by PGR and sent Monday to Angop.

The document says that the move is in the light of constitutional and legal obligations aimed at sensitizing the political parties and preventing the citizens against fraudulent practices in this pre-election period.

The source stressed that the referred voters cards were found in illegal possession of the citizen Manuel Diekeno, aged 25-year-old and born in Maquela do Zombo, Uige.

According to the document, Manuel Diekeno collected the cards from the legitimate users allegedly to provide them with a job in civil construction company called CASA -CE, owned by Olavo Feiteira Lourenço Castigo,"Quinho".

The source stressed that the seized cards were not being used for providing job but become as subscribers of the candidacy of a political party.
