Barentu — The office of the Eritrean Police Force in Gash-Barka region made a call on all pertinent bodies to create a basis for joint venture to reduce traffic accidents. It made the call in a meeting it conducted in Barentu city with its staff members and the Traffic Police.

Col. Solomon Asfaha, Commander of the Police Force in the region, called on the police to play due role in the prevention of crimes. Mr. Haile Abraha, head of the land transport department's branch in the region, similarly called on the Traffic Police to work in collaboration with the branch office so as to ensure reliable traffic safety.

The participants on their part made a request to the pertinent bodies as regards taking due measures on traffic-related offenses and the renovation of those roads causing traffic accidents, among others.
