Nigeria: Solarin Is NMC New DG

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Professor Adewale Roland Tunde Solarin, a Professor of Mathematics, as the acting Director and Chief Executive of the National Mathematics Centre.

A statement by the centre's head of information, Mr. Onyekachi Njoku, said the appointment was with effect from June1. Until his appointment, Solarin was the Dean, School of Mathematical Studies of the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja.

He replaced Prof. Sam Ale whose tenure ended on May 31, after a 10 year service as the Director General of the centre.
