Nigeria: FRSC Wants Speedy Dualisation of Abuja-Lokoja Road

FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Fanola Kayode, Friday called for the quick dualisation of the Abuja-Lokoja road.

He urged the federal government to monitor and put the construction companies on their toes over the contract.

The commander, who stated this during a familiarisation tour to Gwagwalada, Yangoji and Abaji unit commands of the FRSC, said such speedy completion will reduce volume of traffic crashes on the road.

He said the Abuja-Lokoja road is a major route which links the south and north, adding that it is necessary to ensure its completion to reduce accidents along the axis.

The FRSC sector commander told road safety officers that it has become tradition of the sector command to visit all component commands in order to familiarise with their challenges. He however identified some challenges to include, lack of first aid material, ambulances, grounded patrol vehicle and public address system for motor park rally.

The commander said he has taken note of various needs expressed, especially Abaji FRSC unit command, who complained they have two grounded patrol vehicles and no ambulance.
