Nigeria: Gunmen Kill Yobe Assembly Member

Damaturu — Gunmen have killed member representing Ningere local government in the Yobe House of Assembly, Hon. Adamu Deguri.

The gunmen attacked the lawmaker at his residence at Unguwar Tandari in Potiskum around 9am this morning.

An eye witness said, "We were waiting to see him at his house located at Unguwar Tandari as usual. When he came out to attend to us on his way to Damaturu, the gunmen shot him twice and escaped. We all scampered for safety. He was rushed to hospital were he was confirmed dead"

A source with the Police confirmed the attack. "We received the signal but we don't have the details of the attack yet but we learnt that he is the chairman of the House Committee on Special Duties," the source told Daily Trust.

    God Almighty would nt take U b4 ur tym of death & He would nt delay anyone's. We believed that every single happiness that reaches us, is written by our creator b4 we were born & 4 every single matter of sadness (being poverty, danger, sickness, accident, or death) is 4rm our Lord, The Master of d day of recompence. May his gentle Soul rest in perfect peace.

    Would you kill someone so that you may not die? We all must taste death bt we all pray 2 God, that May He bless Us with a Sweet Ending. The Qur'an says that:- If anyone kill or murder someone unjustly, then his SIN would be as if he kill all HUMANITY.

    Well, "Nangere", and not "Ningere", is the correct spelling of this Local Government area in Yobe State. The deceased's surname was "Degubi", not "Deguri." May the Almighty Allah grant him mercy and eternal rest - amen. May prosperity, peace and calm return to Nigeria - amen.
