Eritrea: Residential Land Plots Distributed in Keren City Based On Tiesa Land Tenure System

Keren — Residential land plots were distributed to 210 natives based on tiesa land tenure system in 01 Bambi Administrative area in Keren city.

Mr. Tekie Keleta, Mayor of the city, called on the beneficiaries to properly use and undertake building task on the land plots.

Ms. Haregu Woldegiorgis, head of the Land, Water and Environment Ministry's branch in the region, underlined that beneficiaries should keep in mind that land is not for sale.

One of the residents of the Administrative area, Mr. Mehari Hagos, expressed conviction that the new master plan of the area would upgrade the lifestyle of the people.

Indicating that the process of land distribution in the country involves gender equality, Ms. Gidei Mebrahtu, one of the beneficiaries, said: "thanks to the martyrs, we are in a position to enjoy peace and liberty."
