Tunisia: Curfew Decreed in 8 Governorates From 9 Pm to 5 Am

Tunis — A curfew has been decreed, as of Tuesday, in eight governorates 09:00 p.m. to 05:00 a.m., announced the interior and defence ministries.

The curfew will be observed in the governorates of Tunis, Ariana, Manouba, Ben Arous, Sousse, Jendouba, Monastir and the Ben Guerdane delegation, in the governorate of Medenine, specifies a Prime Ministry communiqué.

The two ministries assert keenness to enforce the arrangements provided for by the state of emergency.

"This decision has come in the wake acts of violence carried out recently by criminal groups against establishments of sovereignty and public and private property," the same communiqué adds.

The curfew exempts such special cases as medical emergency and night-shift labourers.
