Somalia: Unknown Gunmen Shot Dead a Civilian Man in Mogadishu

Mogadishu — Unidentified gunmen have shot and killed a young Somali civilian in Mogadishu, Somalia capital, the latest in series of killings in the city since Al shabab fighters withdrew in August last year.

A witnesses who declined to be identified for security reason reasons, confirmed to Shabelle Media the death of the youngster, saying two anonymous gangs armed with pistols shot Abdi Yare, the victim on the head and chest in several times at Labo-dhagax neighborhood in Mogadishu's Wardhiglay district.

"Mr. Abdi-yare, the deceased was killed as he was heading home in Labo-dhagax area after returning from a nearby sweet shop at about 8: 00 pm local time. He died on the spot because of the gunmen shot him on the head," said a another witness.

The reports that the assailants managed to run away from the shooting scene before Somali security forces reached. The motive and the identity of the murder is yet to established.
