Angola: Over 3,000 Members Join Civic Education Campaign

Luanda — At least 3,500 trained agents countrywide are expected to participate in the National Electoral Civic Education Campaign, launched on Thursday in Luanda by the National Electoral Commission (CNE).

This was confirmed by the chairperson of CNE, Silva Neto, at the opening ceremony for launching of that campaign.

The move aims at informing the voters about rights and duties, as well as keeping them informed, on the date, venues and periods to hold the polls.

The event serves also clarify the voters on mechanisms to elect the the President, vice-President and Members of Parliament (MPs), as well as contribution to preserve the environment of peace and tranquillity before, during and after the elections.

The ceremony was attended by CNE members, government officials, diplomatic body and representatives of political parties.

Chieftains, national and foreign NGOs, religious institutions, among others, also attended the event.
