Luanda — The minister of Justice of Mauritius, Yatindra Nath Varma, arrived Thursday in Luanda to attend from 14 to 15 June the meeting of Justice Ministers and Attorneys General of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).
Yatindra Varma is leading his country's delegation at the meeting, which among other issues, will discuss the following topics - Review of the Role, Responsibilities and Terms of Reference of the SADC Tribunal The meeting of ministers and attorneys general was preceded by the meeting of experts, which prepared the agenda that will analyse issues related to the revised concept note on the proposed amendment to the Protocol on the SADC Tribunal" and "Proposals of revised amendment to the SADC protocol."
The participants will also discuss the "Draft Guidelines on the Selection and Nomination of Candidates for Members of the SADC Tribunal" and the "employment status of staff of the SADC Tribunal."
The ministers of Justice of South Africa, Andries Nel, and Democratic Republic of Congo, Wivine Mumba Matipa, are since Wednesday in Luanda to attend the event.
