Angola: Government Official Recommends Foment of Agriculture to Create Job

Luanda — The Angolan minister of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security, António Pitra Neto, spoke of the need for an attention to the rural area as an essential factor in the creation of jobs.

The minister was speaking on Wednesday on the fringes of the 5th ordinary session of the ruling MPLA party Central Committee.

According to him, agriculture must be seen as an activity that gives people dignity and should for that reason generate jobs in all parts of the country.

He also spoke of the need for local and foreign investors to be given opportunities to contribute to growth as an essential factor in the generation of decent and dignifying jobs.

The minister said as well agriculture should be boosted to avoid migration from the rural into the cities and thus encourage the return of people living in appalling conditions in urban areas into the rural areas.
