Kenya: AP Found Guilty of Killing Nyatike DO

THE Hight court in Kisii yesterday convicted an Administration Police officer of murder. Joseph Chekem was found guilty for killing Nyatike DO Alois Gacheu Maichuhie on the night of August 9, 2004. Justice Ruth Sitati will sentence Chekem at a later date.

The court heard that Maichuhie was with his family in their house at Macalder, when Checkem, who was staying at the servant's quarter at the DO's official residence, started playing loud music. Chekem shot dead the DO when the administrator inquired on why he was playing loud music.
