Tunisia: No Permit for Friday's March (interior Ministry)

Tunis — "The Interior Ministry has not issued any permit for Friday's march and appeals to citizens for calm and for ignoring calls to protest," says a press statement of the Ministry released Thursday.

"by not issuing any permit, the Ministry will assist the police in keeping security and intervening efficiently to deal, under the law, with any assault targeting citizens or public and private properties," added the same source.

The statement was released in the wake of "calls to protest peacefully, Friday, against attacks of the sacred and the acts of violence perpetrated recently" and after "the Ministry received information about an intention of some sides to incite violence and take advantage of peaceful marches to spread chaos in the country."
