Namibia: Rössing Marathon Winners Rewarded

The Manager of External Affairs at Rössing Uranium, Jerome Mutumba recently handed over sporting equipment to the national marathon record holder and 2012 Sportswoman of the Year, Helaria Johannes, and the first time Rössing Marathon winner, Paulus Iyambo.

Mutumba said that Rössing will continue to monitor and support the careers of Johannes and Iyambo through a development bonus worth N$20,000 each.He said that he hopes the material support will help the two athletes in furthering their athletic careers beyond the boundaries of Namibia and onto the world stage.

Johannes who hails from the Ohangwena region is set to participate in the Olympic games in London, and is currently busy with preparations while Iyambo from the Omusati region will be partaking in the Old Mutual Swakopmund Victory race on 30 June.
