The cost of sanitary products and access to them has left women and girls facing serious health risks in Zimbabwe.

It is widely reported and known that girls and young women have desperately resorted to using rags, newspapers, bark, leaves and tissues to protect themselves. It costs at least US$2 to buy a packet of sub standard sanitary towels, a box of tampons comes in at a minimum of US$3.
