Nigeria: Group to Reward Young Professionals and Businessmen

A non-profit making organisation, FUTURE AWARDS INTERNATIONAL is to reward indigenous young entrepreneurs and professional achievers in the country.

Being the seventh of its kind, organisers said the ceremonies, which are expected to hold sometimes in August is aimed at identifying, rewarded and enhancing youth entrepreneurship in the country.

Unfolding the activities lined up for the series of events tagged "Tear Down These Walls", the organisers said it will emphasis how far and how hard young people have worked to build a new system of innovation and values in Nigeria.

Already nominations are currently being sought for from individuals since May 29.

In attendance at the flag off event were past winners and judges of the awards including Tara Fela Durotoye (Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Person of the Year), Uche Nnaji (Style Entrepreneur of the Year) and Tolu Ogunlesi (Journalist of the Year) who interacted with the media on the impact and influence of the awards.

Executive Director of The Future Project, Chude Jideonwo said "The Future Awards led the charge: presenting over 1,000 Positive Role Models (especially outside of entertainment) to young Nigerians and Africans over the past years, we have succeeded in establishing faith in country among blocs of young people, fundamentally altered for good the way young Nigerians are viewed as leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs", he said.
